교회는 건물이 아닙니다. 그리스도인들은 '교회에 간다'고 말하지 않습니다; 우리가 교회입니다. 교회는 그리스도 안에서 오직 믿음으로만 은혜로 구원받았음을 고백하고 그 증거를 나타내는 신자들의 모임입니다. 그리스도인의 삶은 다른 그리스도인들과의 관계 속에서만 온전히 실현될 수 있기 때문에, 성경은 모든 믿는 이에게 이러한 몸의 일원이 될 것을 부르십니다. 이것이 교회에 등록하는 이유입니다.

What is church membership?

A church is not a building. Christians don't "go to church;" we are the church. A church is a body of believers who profess and give evidence that they have been saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Because the Christian life can only be fully realized when lived out in relationship with other Christians, scripture calls every believer to be part of such a body. We call this membership.

The Bible outlines many responsibilities of members of a local body of believers. Here are a few of them.

  • Regulary meet together
  • Receive the preaching of the Word and obey its teachings
  • Participate in the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper
  • Remain committed to Christ and each other
  • Regularly fellowship together to edify one another
  • Love, pray for, and care for one another, including holding each other accountable
  • Seek peace and unity within the congregation
  • Support the ministry of the church through regularl giving

How can I become a member?
  1. Be a born-again believer, demonstrating evidence of new life in Christ.
  2. Be baptized by immersion.
  3. Attend membership classes.
  4. Have an interview with the pastor or a deacon.
  5. Be recommended for membership.
  6. Sign the church's membership covenant and commit to following it.
